Acacia was asked to identify a suitable strategic partner for a new entrant fund manager aiming to provide short-term loans to SMEs in a Middle Eastern country undergoing significant economic turmoil. The fund would be a powerful counterbalancing force providing a much-needed lifeline to local SMEs. The brief was, in particular, to find a partner that had a strong profile and reputation with the targeted investor group.

In this project, we

  • Identified several candidates, and a match was made with one fund management company seeking to address opportunities in this geographical area.
  • Enabled this established fund manager to integrate an innovative strategy into its overall offering and, in return, gave access to its platform and investor base to the new entrant.
  • Facilitated the transaction by working with both parties (each well-known to Acacia) toward a fair deal.
