Acacia has supported several new fund managers in developing their investment processes (sourcing, filtering, due diligence, closing) by working alongside or as part of the investment team as needed.

With this emerging fund manager client (operating in the field of SME investment to reduce pressure on natural forests in developing countries), this work focused on various parts of the investment process, starting with deal-flow generation and management. Acacia played a role in outreach to potential investment opportunities to identify high-potential investments.

A similar assignment was undertaken for a fund manager developing a new fund targeting biodiversity-positive businesses in Africa and other developing countries.

In this project, we:

  • Helped ensure deal-sourcing capabilities were aligned with best practices and front-line support.
  • Provided capacity-building services to the deal team in deal evaluation, due diligence, structuring, negotiation, and closing.
